10 crore dues of railways, if payment is not made in 7 days, water connection will be cut

The corporation has started tightening the noose against the consumers who have arrears of water user charges. There are 17 thousand such consumers, who are not paying water user charges to the corporation. Railways are also included in these 17 thousand consumers, on which the maximum amount of Rs 10 crore is outstanding.

The corporation has given an ultimatum to the railways that if it does not pay the dues within a week, the water connection of its quarters will be disconnected. Municipal commissioner Satyendra Kumar said that letters were written several times for the payment of dues to the railways, but due to non-payment, it has been decided to cut the connection.

Sources said that out of 17 thousand, 90 percent are common consumers, who have not been paying water user charges for the last two years. Demand net of the arrears amount is being sent to the mobile numbers of all such consumers.

BIT also owes lakhs, notice sent

Like railways, BIT Sindri also owes lakhs of rupees. The corporation also corresponded with BIT, but till now the outstanding fee has not been paid by the institute.

According to the corporation, water connection of BIT can also be disconnected in case of non-payment of dues. The notice is being sent again to the institute.

Advertisement issued for recovery of dues

The corporation has issued a public advertisement for recovery of the outstanding fee. Through this an appeal has been made to the defaulters to pay the water bill within a week. A warning has also been given that the connection of the people who do not pay the water charges will be disconnected.

The area where there is no user charge, the cleanliness will be closed there

Like water user charge, the corporation has also decided to increase strictness regarding user charge. The corporation has decided that the cleaning work will be stopped in the area from where user charges are not received in lieu of cleaning.

The Municipal Commissioner said that only 10 percent of the people in the corporation area are currently paying user charges. In lieu of door-to-door garbage collection, all people have to pay user charges. More than one crore per month is spent on cleaning.

40 percent of this has to be arranged from the user charge itself. The user charge does not come from the market area, so first the cleaning system will be stopped in the market area itself.
